Sustainability in alternative accommodation
At Rapid Relocate, we understand the importance of sustainability in the accommodation industry. That’s why we carefully choose our suppliers based on their sustainability performance.
We believe that it’s crucial for us to work with suppliers who share our values and goals and who demonstrate proactive actions towards sustainability. By doing so, we can ensure that our business practices align with our clients’ and customers’ expectations and contribute to a more sustainable future.
We are committed to promoting sustainable practices in every aspect of our business, and our choice of AA solution suppliers is just one of the ways we do this. At Rapid Relocate, we believe that small actions can make a big difference in creating a more sustainable world, and we’re proud to be part of that change.
We understand the impact that our operations have on the environment, and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. While the focus on carbon emissions in the alternative accommodation industry has been mainly on hotels, we are working towards measuring the CO2 emissions attributed to our services, including short and long-term lets.
To ensure that our suppliers share our commitment to sustainability, we require them to complete a thorough due diligence questionnaire that includes ESG-related questions. We also plan to gather carbon reporting from our wider supply chain to align with SBT and our Scope 3 emissions.
Our efforts towards sustainability are reflected in our ESG performance. We have continued with the use of video conferencing post covid, reduced paper usage, increased recycling of plastics and paper, invested in compost bins and water butts, changed to ethically sourced office products, installed bike racks, moved to hybrid vehicles in our company car fleet and switched to renewable energy providers, replacing bulbs with LED lighting.
We also have various social initiatives, including supporting the well-being of our staff, updating policies, introducing a consistent annual bonus scheme, organising lunch and learn sessions, and donating to charities. We plan to become a carbon literate organisation, progressing from our 2022 bronze accreditation to silver by the end of 2023 and gold by the end of 2024.
